Choosing the Right Container for Your Business

Picking a container is easy once you know what job it needs to do. Here's the short version we give every customer who calls us.

Storage or shipping? Go dry.

A standard dry container (20ft or 40ft steel box) is the cheapest and most flexible option. If you just need weatherproof storage on a job site or a straightforward shipping box, this is almost always the right call.

Need to keep something cold? Go reefer.

Reefer containers carry their own refrigeration unit and are built for cargo that can't sit in ambient heat — produce, pharmaceuticals, or anything temperature-sensitive. They cost more to buy and to run, so only step up to reefer when the cargo actually needs it.

Need people to work inside it? Go office.

Everything from a mobile site office to a fully custom-built office container with air-conditioning, wiring, and a private bathroom falls into this category. If people will be sitting inside it for a full shift, spend the extra budget here — insulation and electrical work make a bigger difference than paint color.

Still not sure?

Send us your site conditions (power access, ground surface, how long you'll need it) and we'll recommend a spec instead of guessing. See all container types →
